I am a recipe developer and writer who helps home cooks create tastier and healthier recipes that people will ask for again and again. I left my day job as a laboratory technologist over two years ago due to an increasing obsession with cooking and baking.
Since then, I graduated with a Master of Science in Food Science degree and completed a 3-month stint in Northern Ireland as a food science researcher. Yes, I’m a nerd and it is all of these things- my two science degrees, my love of cooking and baking, and my insatiable appetite for learning and discovery- that set me apart as a recipe developer and writer and what sets this blog apart from others.
My goal is to be your digital superhero for all things cooking and baking; I hope you become empowered to try something new and find recipes here you love!
ABOUT THIS BLOG
I created “From Market to Table” with the idea of connection; both with the dishes on the table and with the people sitting at it. My hope is these recipes will bring you enormous joy and satisfaction and allow you to create lasting food memories with the people you care about deeply or just met. After all, food is more than something we just eat; it is a way we can understand and connect with those around us.
INGREDIENTS AND RECIPES
Most recipes are based around celebrating fruits and vegetables when they are at their best, stellar grains, meat, and dairy, and good quality dark chocolate.
As a food scientist, I push the limits to see how far I can go. This usually entails trying to squeeze as many whole grains in a recipe without it tasting “healthy,” reducing sugar in baked goods while still maintaining their texture and structure, and above all, creating mouth-watering recipes with the least amount of time and effort possible. If there is an extra step in a recipe, it will be 100% worth the results.
